Support for Centres

The introduction of reformed apprenticeship standards represents a significant change in how apprenticeship assessment is designed and delivered. To ensure centres can implement these changes confidently and consistently, TQUK provides a comprehensive package of guidance, training, and ongoing support.

Our approach is designed to build confidence, promote consistency, and reduce the administrative burden associated with transitioning to the new assessment model.

Recognising that every provider has different levels of experience and resources, TQUK offers a flexible support model.

Whether a centre is delivering a reformed apprenticeship for the first time or has extensive experience, our resources are designed to provide practical guidance throughout the assessment journey.

Reform Knowledge Base

TQUK maintains a dedicated online Knowledge Base containing all the information required to deliver reformed apprenticeship standards successfully. This central resource provides access to the latest guidance, policies, standard-specific documentation, frequently asked questions and operational updates, ensuring centres always have access to current information as reforms continue to evolve.

CORE training

All centres are provided with access to CORE training. TQUK's CORE training video contains structured training modules that introduce the principles of apprenticeship reform for each standard, explain assessment models, outline stakeholder responsibilities, and provide standard-specific delivery guidance.

Training can be completed at any time that suits individual users, allowing organisations to onboard new colleagues efficiently while maintaining a consistent understanding of TQUK requirements.

Webinars Q&A

TQUK provides a pre-recorded webinar Q&A that supports centres to understand new apprenticeship standards, changes to assessment requirements, and operational processes. These videos allow centres to find the answers to frequently asked questions about each standard from TQUK.

Bespoke one-to-one support

Where additional guidance is required, TQUK offers tailored one-to-one support sessions. These meetings enable centres to discuss individual standards, delivery models, implementation plans, or operational queries with experienced members of the TQUK team. This personalised approach helps ensure providers feel confident before commencing delivery and throughout the overall assessment process.

Generic assessor training

Each reformed apprenticeship standard is supported by a comprehensive Articulate training course covering all aspects of assessment practice for those delivering assessments in centres.

The course includes information on a number of topics, such as the assessment requirements for the standard. This includes assessment methods, grading arrangements, evidence requirements, assessment conditions, timelines and the responsibilities of each stakeholder. The course acts as the primary operational guide for centres delivering apprenticeship assessments.

Standard-specific training and standardisation

To promote consistency across all organisations delivering apprenticeship assessments, TQUK provides standard-specific training and standardisation activities. These online courses and resources explore assessment decisions, interpretation of assessment criteria, examples of occupational competence and common delivery considerations, helping centres to develop confidence in applying the requirements of each assessment plan consistently.

Support materials

Centres also have access to a wide range of supporting documentation designed to complement the published assessment plans. These materials include assessor packs with question banks, checklists, planning templates, learner guidance, employer guidance, and operational resources that support effective assessment planning and administration.

Question banks and assessment resources

Where appropriate for the assessment method, TQUK provides structured question banks and supporting assessment materials to promote consistency and ensure assessments remain aligned to the published assessment plan. These resources support centres in delivering valid, reliable and standardised assessments while maintaining the flexibility intended by the apprenticeship reforms.

Instructional videos

A library of short instructional videos is available to guide centres through key aspects of the assessment process. These videos demonstrate assessment activities, explain common processes, introduce new standards, and provide practical guidance on using TQUK systems and documentation. Designed as on-demand resources, they enable staff to access support whenever it is needed.

Ongoing partnership

Supporting centres is an ongoing process rather than a single onboarding activity. Throughout the delivery of reformed apprenticeship standards, TQUK continues to provide updates, guidance, and expert support as assessment plans evolve and new standards are introduced.

By combining digital resources, structured learning, standardisation activities, and personalised support, TQUK helps centres deliver apprenticeship assessments confidently, consistently, and in full compliance with Skills England and broader regulatory requirements.
