Endorsed Course Application

When applying for an endorsed course, it's important to follow the correct procedure to ensure smooth processing and approval. Below, we outline the key steps and criteria for submitting an application for TQUK's endorsed course approval.

Using the online form

To start the application process, you will need to complete one of two online forms, depending on which type of endorsed course best suits your needs. If you're unsure which course type to apply for, feel free to contact the Qualifications Team at endorsed.courses@tquk.org, and they will be happy to guide you.

It is essential that you are a recognised TQUK centre or endorsed customer before applying. You’ll need to provide your centre name and number as part of the application and attach the course teaching content and materials when prompted.

Exempt areas

There are certain areas where TQUK reserves the right not to approve an endorsed course, including:

  • regulated professions or areas that require formal industry accreditation or licensing (e.g. healthcare, education, legal sectors)
  • courses that involve permanent changes to an individual's appearance, such as tattooing, microblading, or body modifications.

TQUK assesses each application individually and reserves the right to refuse approval if deemed necessary.

Review process

Approval criteria

When your application is submitted, the Qualifications Team will review the following:

  • Rationale for the course.
  • Correct SSA classification.
  • Learning outcomes.
  • Assessment criteria (Certified Learning Course only).
  • Assessment methods.
  • Ensuring the course does not overlap with any regulated qualifications.
  • Confirmation that the course complies with assessment expectations.
  • Compliance with TQUK titling guidelines.
  • Adequate qualifications and training of the course instructor.

Failure reasons

Common reasons for a submission to fail include:

  • Inappropriate course content.
  • Insufficient knowledge or ineffective course delivery methods.
  • Inadequate assessment methods.
  • Missing or incomplete information on the application form.
  • Incorrect titling.
  • A course or level that is deemed too advanced or too basic for the target audience.
